I aim to meet my clients where they are at by holding a client-centered approach to therapy and making space for curiosity and compassion. I work collaboratively with my clients to identify their motivation for change and how the creative process can support the goals for therapy.
My approach to healing considers our connection to and impact from the larger networks of relationships and social systems in our lives.
-
I am committed to ongoing learning and critical self reflection and seek to identify and repair power dynamics within the therapist-client dynamic.
-
I offer affirmative and informed therapy to the LGBTQIA2+ community.
-
I give care to my client’s knowledge, desires, character strengths and connections. The client-therapist relationship remains one of mutuality and partnership.
I am also a trained art therapist which means I help clients identify and explore complex emotions and personal challenges through creativity and art making, in addition to verbal processing.
Using art materials as a mediator in the therapy process provides a different way to approach communication, motivation, and resiliency. By encouraging engagement in art making, it is my goal to offer you new capacities to express difficult and complex feelings and experiences to seek understanding, growth, and acceptance.
